Most people running for this seat will promise you water and power. Mike Power Maingi builds water and power systems for a living.
He is an entrepreneur, community advocate and a proud resident of Roysambu Constituency, where he has kept his home and run his business. He grew up on a family farm in Burnt Forest, worked the soil during school holidays, studied law at the University of Nairobi, and went on to build companies that deliver clean energy, water solutions and road infrastructure across Kenya and beyond.
He believes leadership is not about sitting in air-conditioned parliamentary offices while roads flood and schools lack facilities. It is about walking the dusty alleys of Githurai 44, sitting with boda boda operators at their stages, supporting mama mbogas in the markets, and ensuring that every single shilling of the NG-CDF kitty reaches the deserving child — without bias and without political favouritism.
That combination is the whole argument. Compassion is common in this race. Competence is not. Roysambu has had representatives who could fill a baraza. What it has not had is one who can read a tender document, cost a drainage line and hold a contractor to a delivery date.
